Irish pharmaceuticals company saves €800k with ISO 50001

AbbVie Ireland in Sligo, is a licensed high containment facility for the manufacture of a wide range of pharmaceuticals. The company decided to gain accredited certification to ISO 50001 in order to improve energy efficiency, reduce their CO2 footprint, and to reduce their overall energy costs. Since implementation, it has delivered annual energy efficiency savings of €799,272 and an annual reduction of 2,575 tonnes of CO2.
