US public traded manufacturing firms show improved financial performance with ISO 9001 certification
The financial impact of ISO 9001 certification was investigated by tracking the financial performance from 1987 to 1997 of all publicly traded ISO 9001 certification firms in the US (Corbett, Montes-Sancho and Kirsch, 2005). Results confirmed that ISO 9001 certification leads to significant improvements in financial performance, that are also sustained after the initial certification period.
