ISO 9001 certified firms perform significantly better on Singapore Stock Exchange

70 companies listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange were examined to investigate the association between ISO 9001 certification and financial performance (Sharma, 2005). The research concluded that ISO 9001 certification is associated with significant improvements in profit margin, growth in sales, and earnings per share. These improvements are driven largely through operational efficiencies following the implementation of ISO 9001 certification.
