79% of Spanish firms considers ISO 18001 (OHSAS) certification makes it easier to comply with legal obligations
Research based on 131 Spanish companies of various sizes across the industrial, construction and service sectors, found that 79% agreed ISO 18001 certification for Occupational Health & Safety makes it easier to comply with legal obligations. Furthermore, 78% agreed it improved internal organisation and documentation systems and 67% felt it improved their corporate image. The report concludes that “the Audit process helps firms comply with their legal obligations, and improve their corporate image since the certificate is a source of positive publicity for the firm” (Fernández–Muñiz, Montes-Peón & Vázquez-Ordás, 2012).
