Quality results for Greek businesses following ISO 9001 certification (2015)

Quality has been identified as one of the competitive strategies for improving business performance in the global market. It is therefore a very important part of the contemporary company in terms of organisational management.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the benefits of ISO 9001 certification and the association between them, the level of implementation of the critical success factors required for the appropriate functioning of the quality management system in ISO 9001:2008 certified companies and between other demographic variables. A survey was carried out to Greek companies from all business sectors with ISO certification.

The results from the paper reveal the overall benefits from ISO certification seem to be positive. This shows companies will experience an improvement in their performance level. The most important benefits derived from ISO registration seem to be the improvement of corporate image, customers’ satisfaction, and the use of registration as a promotional/marketing tool.
