Financial performance of ISO 14001 certified publicly traded US firms is higher than those without certification

The effects of ISO 14001 certification on financial performance were investigated by tracking the financials of publicly traded US firms between 1996 and 2005 (De Jong, Paulraj and Blome, 2014).

The results demonstrated that ISO 14001 certification shows a significant financial improvement, especially in the long term.
