EMD, a Division of Curtiss-Wright based in the US, saw the implementation of an energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001, as a key element in continuing with energy conservation.

Since gaining accreditation certification to ISO 50001, the company has improved its energy performance by 13.08% over 5 years, generating annual energy cost savings of $60,000. The cost to implement the energy management system was $100,000, and so payback was achieved in 20 months.
